Membership

  • Group picFor members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, there is no sisterhood like ours. From its founding in 1922 by seven school teachers to its continued growing membership across the United States and the globe, we continue to attract quality women dedicated to service and their community.
We encourage you to learn not only about Sigma Gamma Rho but also understand the depth of the history of the black Greek system. Please find out how you identify with our organization- or, for that matter, how you don't- so that you can decide whether this sisterhood is right for you.

    Graduate Membership
    Sorors

Potential graduate members must hold a degree from a four-year accredited educational institution.

There is no GPA requirement for alumnae membership.

You must be a member of Sigma Gamma Rho to join a local chapter; however, you may join Sigma Gamma Rho when no local chapter is in your area.

For transferring and returning Sorors, we welcome you to join us at our upcoming events and community service. Please get in touch with us at zns.membership@gmail.com for more information.

    Non-Sorors
Graduate membership does not mean you have to be in grad school to join. Joining at the Graduate level means you have obtained a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution. Interested women should use the contact form below so that our membership chair can connect you to our list of chapter events and members of the chapter. Since interest can be exhibited in various ways, we highly recommend interested women attend informational teas, programs, and social events conducted by Zeta Nu Sigma. As there are no set calendars for intake, interested women can express their interest and begin to make their acquaintance with chapter members at any time.

    Undergraduate Membership

A woman may be admitted for membership in an undergraduate chapter only while attending a four-year college or university or in a liberal arts/transfer program of a junior or community college once they submit proof of intention to enter and obtain a degree from a four-year school.

We are a working organization and want you to be sure that you are entering an environment where you can be productive and flourish as an active member. Remember, this is no mere membership...it is a lifetime commitment.
