The Youth Symposium is a powerful event created to inspire and empower young people by addressing important topics that impact their well-being and future success. This year, the symposium will focus on building self-esteem among youth, providing them with tools, inspiration, and resources to develop confidence and embrace their unique strengths.
The symposium is free for youth participants and includes two engaging sessions:
In this creative workshop, participants will explore their identity through art and positive affirmations. Guided by experienced facilitators, youth will create personalized artworks that celebrate their strengths, dreams, and self-worth. This hands-on activity aims to boost self-esteem by helping participants visualize their potential in a supportive environment. This session is designed to be both fun and empowering, blending creativity with meaningful reflection.
This interactive session features a science fair-style showcase of Black professionals from various fields, offering students a chance to learn about different career paths and connect with role models who share their experiences. Participants will visit booths, engage in one-on-one conversations, and gain insights into the achievements of successful individuals in science, technology, business, arts, and more. This session is designed to inspire students to aim high and believe in their ability to succeed in any field.
The Youth Symposium will be a day of empowerment, inspiration, and community building. Students will leave feeling confident and motivated, with practical tools to improve their self-esteem and ideas about their future possibilities. In addition to learning and creating, participants will have the opportunity to win prizes through a raffle by visiting all the professional booths.
We encourage parents to sign up their students for this exciting opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with other youth in a positive, supportive space.
